મારા નયન–ઝબકાર તવ હૃદયને પ્રજાળે?
ને મેઘગર્જન બની તારાં દિગંતો ગજાવે?
મધુરા મમ ઓષ્ઠની જરી ઝાંખી, ને
વધૂ–લજ્જા જ્યારે વદનપે લાલી લીંપે,
હેં સખા, એ સર્વ તને નિત્ય ઝાલે?
મારા મંદારવૃક્ષે ચિર–વસંત તેં દીઠી શું?
ને નૂપુર મારાં તું–કાજે વીણાવાદ્યના સૂર છેડે :
કહે, એ સાચું?
કહે, તું નીરખે મને ને નિશા–આંગણ ઝાકળબિંદુ ઠરતાં,
પ્રભાતે ઝબકતાં તેજ એ ચોપાસ દીપ્તિ પસારે
– એ સત્ય છે?
અરે, કહે, જરી સ્પર્શ મારો તવ ચિત્તને મૂર્ચ્છિત કરતો?
અને શું આ વાયુલહર તુજમાં કૅફ ભરતી?
આ જ સાચું ને, પ્રણયસખા મારા?
દિવસના આ અજવાસને મમ જુલ્ફની કાલિમા ઘેરે,
ને આપણ બાહુઓ ચિરંતન સ્નેહપાશ રચતા
– એ સાચું?
તુજ અંતરીક્ષના સીમાડા આ પાલવડે સમાતા,
ને સુણી વાણી મારી સૃષ્ટિ સકલ નીરવ થાતી
– પ્રિય, શું એ ય સાચું?
આ પૃથિવી, દિગ્દિગંતો ને બ્રહ્માંડ આખું :
એ બધો વિસ્તાર મારો, મુજને સમર્પિત :
– નિત્યપ્રિય મારા, કહે, એ સાચું?
પ્રણય તારો જન્માંતરોથી મારી ખોજ કરતો,
ધરાતલ ખૂંદી વળીને મુજમાં શરણ પામ્યો,
વાણી – નયન – ઓષ્ઠ – કેશલટ :
– એ સર્વ તવ લોચને સર્વદા સમાયાં :
એ જ સત્ય કે?
