As the world becomes digital and the new media proliferates, the preservation, digitisation and distribution of our cultural treasures is more important than ever. Vipool Kalyani pioneered the digitisation initiatives with this aim of spreading our rich shared cultural heritage. These initiatives are a tribute to the memory of his parents Radhabahen and Bhagwanji Odhavji Kalyani.
The digitisation endeavours started with the Bhajan Digitisation project in collaboration with Dr Niranjan Rajyaguru and Anand Ashram. It continued with the digitisation of one of the finest journals of Gujarat – Nireekshak. Gujarat was followed by the global diasporic perspective of Opinion and the gigantic work of Vishwamanav and Milaap.
The future projects include new publications, new distribution formats and relevant collaboration to discover, preserve and promote our heritage works.

“ઓપિનિયન”ની આ અઢાર વર્ષોની આ અક્ષર-અને-વિચાર યાત્રા. તેને કમ્પ્યૂટરની એક ક્લિકે જાળવી લેવાનો આ વીજળિક ઉપક્રમ. “ઓપિનિયન”ને પાને તેથીસ્તો વસ્તુસ્થિતિ, હકીકતના આધારે ડાયસ્પોરિક જનજીવનની કેટકેટલી નકરી માહિતી વિગતો આવરતી લેખમાળાઓ જોવાવાંચવા સાંપડે છે. અભ્યાસીઓ ઉપરાંત, સવિશેષ તો, વિચાર અને કર્મની પરસ્પર શોધનકારી જુગલબંધી માટે તેમ તે વાટે મથતી બિરાદરીને દશા-અને-દિશા-બોધ સારુ આ ડિજિટલ સોઈ ઉપયોગી થઈ પડશે તેવી ઉમેદ છે.

૧૫ ઑગસ્ટ ૧૯૬૮થી ૧૬ ડિસેમ્બર ૨૦૧૦: ‘નિરીક્ષક’ની આ સૌ વર્ષોની અક્ષર-અને-વિચાર-યાત્રા, ઠીકઠીક જીર્ણશીર્ણ પાનાં અને કઈંક રફેદફે ફાઇલોની વાસ્તવિકતા જોતાં, યથાસંભવ તેમ યથાનિર્વાહ્ય પણ વેળાસર જળવાઈ જાય એ હેતુથી હાથ ધારેલો આ ઉપક્રમ રસ અને નિસબત ધરાવતા સૌને સારુ રમતો મૂકતાં નિરીક્ષક ફાઉન્ડેશન આનંદ અનુભવે છે.

‘મિલાપ’માં લખાણોનાં વિષયોની વિવિધતા જોવા મળશે જેમકે દુભાયેલા-કચડાયેલા લોકોની જિંદગી અને જિંદાદિલી, કોમવાદ અને ફાસીવાદ, રાજકારણ અને લોકશાહીનાં મૂલ્યો, તૂટતાં ગામડાં, અસ્પૃશ્યતા-અસમાનતા સહિતના સામાજિક દૂષણો, સ્ત્રીજીવન, બાળઘડતર, શિક્ષણ, નાગરિક જીવન અને નાગરિક સમાજ, ભેખધારીઓનાં વ્યક્તિચિત્રો, વિવેકપૂર્ણ સ્વસ્થ જીવન, શરીરશ્રમ અને તંદુરસ્તી, વિવિધ ભાવદર્શી કાવ્યો, હાસ્ય-વિનોદ, પ્રકીર્ણ વિષયો તથા વાચન મહિમા.

માનવના નામથી શરુ થયેલ આ સામાયિક તેની રજૂઆતના સાત અંક બાદ ‘વિશ્વમાનવ’ નામથી પ્રસિદ્ધ થયું. આ સામાયિક શરુ કરવાનો મૂળ ઉદ્દેશ સાહિત્ય, સંસ્કાર, કળા આદિ વિવિધ ક્ષેત્રે રસાસ્વાદોનું ઘડતર કરવા, માનવીની ગુલામી અને લાચારીને પરિહરનારી બંધુતા, સમાનતા, સ્વતંત્રતાના પુરુષાર્થનો પડઘો પાડવા તેમજ ગુજરાત અને ભારતના ગૌરવનો સુયોગ્ય પરિચય આપી ભારતીય રાષ્ટ્રીયતાની એકતાનો તથા ગુર્જર વિશિષ્ટતાનો પડઘો પાડવાનો હતો.
ધ્વનિમુદ્રિત કરેલાં પરંપરિત ભજનો
આનંદ આશ્રમમાં સચવાયેલી કેસેટ્સમાં સંગ્રહાયેલા, આપણા આ વિસરાતા જતા પરંપરિત વાગવારસાને અને લોકસંગીત-ભક્તિસંગીતની લૂપ્ત થવાને આરે ઊભેલી વિરાસતને ભવિષ્યની પેઢી માટે કાયમી જાળવી રાખવા પ્રથમ તબક્કાના ભાગ રૂપે તમામ ભક્તિસંગીતની કેસેટ્સમાં સચવાયેલી લોકવિધા-લોકસાહિત્ય-સંતવાણીની ૧૯૦૦ જેટલાં ભજનોની ધ્વનિમુદ્રિત સામગ્રીને કોમ્પ્યુટરમાં ડિઝિટલ સ્વરૂપે પરિવર્તિત કરવામાં આવી છે. આનંદઆશ્રમની વેબ સાઇટ પરથી આ તમામ સામગ્રી વિના મૂલ્યે જિજ્ઞાસુઓને ઉપલબ્ધ થતી રહેશે.

The Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi
One time, authentic documentation of Gandhiji’s available writings was carried out meticulously and conscientiously under the CWMG project of the Government of India, which commenced in September 1956 and was concluded on 2 October 1994, with the publication of the 100th volume. All volumes can be read in two modes: the Archival mode provides scanned images of the originals as published while the Enhanced mode provides black and white images of the same for ease of reading.

Acclaimed Gujarati Litterateur Adam Tankarvi and Well-Known Intellectual & Legendary Journalist Prakash N Shah launched the DVD Archival Version of Opinion on the august occasion of the Gujarati Literary Academy’s Ninth Gujarati Lingua-Literary Conference in London on Saturday Aug 29, 2015.
The Digital Version of Opinion encompasses all the printed editions from April 1995 to Mar 2013 in a DVD. The DVD contains a rich desktop application with easy interface to search and access articles author-wise, year-wise and subject-wise. The DVD is compatible with Mac OS and Windows OS.
